BEHIND THE SCENES
Where Magic Meets Making
Every piece of DORI jewelry begins long before it reaches your hands. Behind the scenes, inside small workshops across Jaipur and India, there is a world where creativity, tradition, and skilled craftsmanship come together.
This is where the hum of metalwork echoes.
Where raw stones are sorted by hand.
Where artisans shape, solder, and polish jewelry with care.
Where slow craft meets modern design.
If you’ve ever wondered how handmade jewelry in Dubai or artisanal jewelry from India comes to life, this is the world we’re opening for you.
It All Begins With an Idea
Every collection starts with inspiration—travel, culture, stories, materials, textures, and the everyday beauty of India.
From these seeds, our design team sketches silhouettes, forms, and patterns that stay true to DORI’s identity: bold, wearable, expressive, handcrafted.
Once a design is finalized, the real work begins.
Step 1: Shaping the Base (Brass or Silver)
Artisans cut and shape brass or pure silver into forms that match the design.
This stage includes:
-
Hand-cutting the metal
-
Hammering and shaping
-
Filing for smooth edges
-
Creating structure for stones or motifs
Nothing here is machine-perfect — and that’s exactly why it feels alive.
Step 2: Stone Selection & Setting
We carefully source semi-precious stones from Sri Lanka, Jaipur, and India. Behind the scenes, artisans sort stones based on:
-
Color
-
Clarity
-
Shape
-
Rawness
-
Natural character
Every stone is placed and set by hand. No two stones ever sit exactly the same — and that’s the beauty of hand-set, sustainable jewelry.
Step 3: Hand-Soldering & Detailing
This is one of the most delicate stages.
Using traditional tools, artisans heat, melt, and join metal pieces together with precision.
Every motif, every loop, every tiny curve is created through:
-
Controlled soldering
-
Micro-welding
-
Hand-polishing
-
Fine detailing with files and brushes
This is where the design truly takes shape.
Step 4: Preparing for Gold Plating
Before a piece is plated, it goes through:
-
Multiple rounds of polishing
-
Cleaning to remove impurities
-
Surface preparation
-
Quality inspections
Only then is it ready for its luminous finish.
Step 5: 18K Gold Plating
DORI pieces are plated with 18K gold to achieve a premium, long-lasting shine. During this stage:
-
Each piece is dipped and coated
-
The gold bonds with the base metal
-
The jewelry is dried and sealed
-
The final shine is added by hand
This is what gives DORI its signature glow — warm, rich, and elegant.
Step 6: Quality Checks & Finishing
A single piece passes through up to 15 checkpoints, ensuring:
-
Stone stability
-
Smooth edges
-
Perfect plating
-
Secure closures
-
Comfortable wearability
Every piece is touched, tested, and held many times before it’s approved.
Thoughtful, Slow, and Conscious
We take pride in producing jewelry in small batches.
This isn’t just manufacturing — it’s artistry.
It’s slow, mindful, and deeply human.
Behind every piece of DORI jewelry are hours of unseen labour, decades of skill, and a love for craftsmanship that machines can never replicate.
Because What You Wear Should Have a Story
When you choose DORI, you choose more than a product.
You choose a piece that has been imagined, shaped, tested, and perfected—by hands, hearts, and heritage.
This is the behind-the-scenes world you become part of.
A world of mindful making.
A world of small-batch beauty.
A world where jewelry is crafted, not produced.
